Established in May of 1948, Beth El’s Sisterhood works to uphold and preserve the timeless ideals and cherished rituals of Jewish tradition. The Sisterhood supports Beth El in innumerable ways, including advancing the congregation’s financial welfare through fundraising events, providing scholarships for Beth El students, and collaborating with our clergy to help lead prayer services and other ritual experiences. Our Sisterhood is one of the largest and most active synagogue sisterhoods affiliated with the Women’s League of Conservative Judaism and the Maryland Federation of Jewish Women’s Organizations.
This year, the theme for Torah Fund is Chazak v’ Ematz, which translates to “Be strong and courageous”. We summon strength and fortitude in these changing times to continue to make an important impact at our global Conservative/Masorti Institute of higher education. For more information, click here.
