Melissa Hyatt is the 14th Baltimore County Police Chief and the first woman to lead this department. A lifelong resident of Baltimore County, Chief Hyatt was sworn in on June 17, 2019, bringing over 20 years of law enforcement experience with the Baltimore Police Department. She is the first Jewish woman to hold this position. Chief Hyatt currently serves as the 1st Vice President for the Maryland Chiefs of Police Association. She is also an enthusiastic supporter of Special Olympics and youth programs throughout the region. This presentation is an insight into her career path, her vision for Baltimore County and how her work is influenced by Jewish values.
