Jews, God, and History (Not Necessarily in That Order)! Written and performed by Michael Takiff

Wednesday, February 17, 2021 5 Adar 5781

7:00 PM - 9:00 PMZoom

Jews, God, and History (Not Necessarily in That Order) is about Jews -how Jews live and think, pray and eat – but it’s not only about Jews. The show explores the big questions, asked by people of all origins and beliefs: about God, spirituality, faith, reason, heritage, modernity.

As the show provokes people to think, it also gets them to laugh. Jews, God, and History features a broad range of performing styles, beginning with a variety of comedic forms – stand-up, sketch, character, impressions, and just plain jokes. The show’s ample dramatic material takes many forms, as well: discourse, rant, and memoir.

Venturing into rarely explored territory, Jews, God, and History pulls no punches, challenging viewers to question their assumptions about issues like God, the Holocaust, and the place of a religious minority in the United States of America. [the never-ending tension between identity and assimilation. Jews, God, and History is reverent and irreverent, comforting and maddening, funny and serious, epic and intimate. Jews, God, and History is unlike any show you’ve seen before.
