Sunday, February 9, 2020 14 Shevat 5780

10:00 AM - 12:00 PMGorn Chapel

Men, women and children of the Beth El family are invited to participate in learning about this ancient pְractice. Tefillin תפילין , is a set of small black leather boxes containing scrolls of parchment inscribed with verses from the Torah. Tefillin is worn by adult men and women during weekday morning prayers. The arm-tefillah, or shel yad, is placed on the upper arm while the head-tefillah or shel rosh is placed above the forehead. This ritual fulfills the Torah’s instructions to keep as a sign and remembrance of the Exodus signifying that God brought the children of Israel out of Ancient Egypt.

Join Rabbi Schwartz and Cantor King and Come Wrap with Them. The session will feature interesting opportunities to learn more about the mitzvah of tefillin. Sets of tefillin will be provided; and, instructions will be given to those who need assistance. Join us after the program for light refreshments.

RSVP due by February 4. Download your reservation form here
