Beth El Committees and Affiliates
Beth El Congregation offers social opportunities and community involvement for people of every generation with varying interests:
- • Sisterhood - The Beth El Sisterhood works toward advancing the mission of Beth El by assisting the schools and other religious activities of the congregation and to assist in all the purposes for which the congregation is organized, to assist the schools of the congregation and to further any religious activities that the members feel should be supported.
• Sisterhood Too - Sisterhood Too is a dynamic offshoot of Sisterhood which offers fun and exciting social, educational, and spiritual programming to our members.
• Seniors - The mission of the Beth El Seniors is to enrich the lives of Beth El Congregation's senior members by providing a high level of programming and entertainment in a setting designed to promote sociability and good fellowship.
• Israel Affairs Committee - The Israel Affairs Committee informs and educates the entire Beth El family and the greater Baltimore community about the State of Israel – it’s history, traditions, accomplishments and current events. The committee sponsors programs and celebrations to sustain and enhance our connection with Israel.
• Social Action Committee - From volunteering with organizations around Baltimore to organizing Blood Drives at Beth El, the Social Action Committiee and its sub-committees are always looking for active volunteers to lend a hand.
- • Youth Academy - The goal of the Youth Academy is to maximize the number of children and teenagers participating at Beth El Congregation in meaningful Jewish educational, experiential and social opportunities through USY, Kadimah and Machar.
- • BEYOM (Beth El Young Members)- BEYOM is open to all Jewish young adults (ages 21-39) in the Baltimore and surrounding communities. BEYOM provides a social outlet for its members through new and innovative programming.
• Melvin & Anita Steinberg College Outreach Program - The College Outreach program serves as a year-round connection between the congregation and our college students through mailings and programs.
