THE WAY YOU MAKE ME SPIEL

Saturday & Sunday, February 27 & 28

Join Beth El on Saturday, February 27 for the Annual Purim Spiel.  This year’s theme, “Motown Megillah” will feature songs from the classic days of the Motown scene.  Tunes that are too good to not sing along to! It all starts at 7:00 p.m. with the spiel starring the Beth El choir and Cantor Thom King.  As always laughs, songs and this year especially dancing will take center stage.

Following the spiel, Beth El clergy, staff and officers grace the stage in a karaoke based performance and Motown trivia quiz in the Offit Auditorium.   A post revue "open karaoke" will let everyone have the chance to show their soulful side!  A light pizza dinner will be available for purchase, and there will be plenty of complimentary hamantashen and desserts lovingly baked by a handful of congregational bakers.

Purim continues on Sunday, February 28 with our morning service at which the Megilah will be read.  This family friendly service will begin at 9:30 a.m (the scheduled 9:00 a.m. service in the Gorn will still take place).

The Annual Purim Carnival, co-sponsored by the Beth El Brotherhood, the Mash Preschool and the Berman-Lipavsky Religious School, will begin at 11:00 a.m, finishing at 1:00 p.m.

In the afternoon on February 28, begining at 3:00 p.m. please be sure to join us for MUSIC TO CHERISH IN THE GORN CHAPEL. This concert which features Israeli pianist Michal Tal, cellist Evan Drachman, and our own Dr. Eyal Bor on clarinet will include classical and klezmer music and a very special memorial piece, Kaddish, written by Tzvi Avni (the 2001laureate of the Israel Prize of Music).Concert Presented by the Israel Affairs Committee and Beth El Schools
