Israel Pilgrimage
We are excited to inform you that we will be leading a Beth El Pilgrimage Trip to Israel from June 16-27, 2011. At every Torah service, we pray, “Ki metzion Tezte Torah udvar Hashem Meyerusalym” meaning “From out of Zion shall go forth the Torah and the word of the Lord from Jerusalem”. To that end, this trip next summer will be spiritual, cultural and will connect us to the Holy Land as a Beth El community. What does Israel mean to us as Jews? It is a spiritual and emotional touchstone. It is a place where we can experience our history and culture, where we can visit the most sacred sites of Judaism and walk on the paths and the streets that our ancestors walked on generations ago. At the same time it is a place where we can meet our Israeli brothers and sisters of today, and experience the miracle that is the modern State of Israel. It is a place of spiritual renewal and reconnection where we intuitively understand the importance of living a full and meaningful Jewish life. With Rabbi Steven Schwartz and Dr. Eyal Bor, and travelling as part of a Beth El group, this trip will create memories for us that we will cherish for many years to come Our plan is to begin the trip in the northern part of Israel, the Golan Heights, and spend the first three days there. Then we will descend towards Jerusalem and explore the central and southern parts of Israel as far as B’aer Sheba. This trip will have a special advantage as we will be staying in Israel for two Shabbatot instead of the usual one Shabbat. We plan to include many interesting, new, and different stops along the way. We both are very experienced and knowledgeable in touring the country
and leading these Holy Land trips. It has been a pleasure to have
shared these Pilgrimages with hundreds of our Beth El family members
throughout the years. As your spiritual and educational leaders, we guarantee
an unforgettable experience. An information meeting will be
held for the entire Congregation on Tuesday, May 11, 2010 at 7:00pm
in the Schapiro Auditorium. For more information, please contact Dr.
Eyal Bor at 410 484 4543. We are looking forward to sharing this trip on June 16, 2011.
