What is so special about this particular concert?
The selection of pieces we chose is incredibly interesting. From Jewish to Classical from Israeli to Liturgical… it will make the concert very unique and different from anything you have ever heard before.
Are you familiar with Michal Tal and her work?
Yes, I am. Michal is a super star musician and once you listen to her you will want to come back for more because there is something magical about her playing that words cannot describe…..
Why should YOU attend?
Michal is one of the best artists I have ever met. She is a leading pianist and professor in Israel. Thom is very special as the years go by I have learned to admire and appreciate his singing and how awesome of a composer he is. As a musician, I have yet to meet Cantors as well-rounded and great as Thom. He is so diversified! He can sing in all styles at the highest level. I enjoy playing whatever he writes for any musical event. I have seen what he has composed for Michal and trust me… it is incredible!
Why did you choose to participate in it?
Every few years I love to share my musical abilities with the community at large. Also, I am an active performer and I always like to give back to my community/shul whenever I can in any way whether it is through teaching, fundraising or music.
Anything else you would like to add?
Please come to this concert… There is also a short segment of musicians from Howard County who will perform some Israeli folk tunes. I was so proud to see these youngsters so enthused when I asked them to join me to perform Israeli/Jewish music. It was their first experience playing this music while practicing with them and I was so fascinated by their interest and willingness to overcome a type of music that they don’t see often … they did great!!!!
