Rabbi Steven Schwartz has served Beth El Congregation since 1998, currently filling the role of Senior Rabbi. He is a graduate of Brandeis University, received a masters degree in psychology from the University of Maryland and was ordained as a rabbi from the Jewish Theological Seminary of America. Rabbi Schwartz is a member of the Board of Directors of The Institute for Christian and Jewish studies and is the community-at-large member of the Johns Hopkins Internal Review Board. He is also a past president of the Baltimore Board of Rabbis. Rabbi Schwartz, his wife Rebecca and their three children reside in Owings Mills.

Associate Rabbi Dana Saroken
Rabbi Dana Saroken joined Beth El as its first female rabbi in 2007 as its Assistant Rabbi. She is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of the University of Arizona's Honors Program with a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science and Jewish Studies and was ordained at the Jewish Theological Seminary of American in 2004. Before coming to Pikesville and joining Beth El with her husband, Rafi, and three children, Rabbi Saroken worked as the Educational Director for the international organization Up With People, the Director of the Jewish Student Association at Georgetown University and as the Assistant Rabbi at New City Jewish Center in New York City.

Rabbi Faith Cantor joins Beth El as the Rabbi-Educator. She is a graduate of Cal State College in Northridge where she majored in history. Rabbi Cantor completed her Junior year of college in Jerusalem at Hebrew University and continued her studies at the Jewish Theological Seminary. Previously she was an Associate Rabbi in Charlotte, North Carolina at Temple Israel. Prior to that, she was Director of Judaic studies for Solomon Schecter in Suffolk County, New York. Rabbi Cantor has had experience in everything from traditional rabbinic jobs to helping people cope, working in youth departments, and adult education. |

Cantor Thom King has been the cantor of Beth El Congregation since 1997. He is a magna cum laude graduate of the Hart School of Music, where he studied voice and hazzanut under the tutelage of renowned Cantor Arthur Koret, and is a commissioned member of the Cantors Assembly. Besides performing internationally in cantorial concerts, recitals, symphony concerts and opera, including appearances at Carnegie Hall and El Palacio dellas Bella Artes in Mexico, Cantor King can be heard on "Thom King Sings Michael Isaacson," a CD of contemporary Jewish music. He is also a founder and director of Beth El Congregation's adult and junior choirs. Cantor King, his wife Shazy (who is also a cantor) and their three daughters reside in Pikesville. |
