2010 Annual Appeal

In the August Voice, Rabbi Schwartz expressed how last year’s challenging economic climate was a serious concern of the leadership of your synagogue. The knowledge that many of our members and their families were under unusual financial pressures relating to employment and financial concerns made our Annual Appeal more important than ever before.

We conveyed those concerns to our members who responded to that challenge by participating and contributing to the Annual Appeal in a manner that surpassed any previous year.

Similar to last year, we are still very concerned and have already seen many more requests from members to help with dues, school tuitions, and in some cases even with financial assistance. Even though we are in a different year the needs and concerns are the same. Beth El has always been and will always be there to assist any family in need and to insure that they can remain as members with dignity and also to insure that no Jewish child will go without a Jewish education. We are a Shul and as a Shul it is our first obligation to be there for our members.

Your dues provide less than fifty percent of the cash requirements to meet our budgetary needs. If it were not for our Annual Appeal, we could not provide tuition scholarships, dues assistance or needed programs and services that benefit our Congregational family and the Community.

The Annual Appeal is one of the reasons that assures that Beth El is a place that will always be there for everyone. This year, more than ever, I ask that you please participate in the Annual Appeal. We have set a goal that surpasses last year. We need you now more than ever. Your gift, whatever the amount, is truly appreciated and needed. By making your voluntary, tax-deductible contribution, you will do your part to ensure that Beth El can continue to be the place that we all know and love.

One final request that would make this year’s campaign even more successful;
PLEASE make your pledge early. We will bill you and you can pay at your own convenience. By doing this small act, you can help the dedicated core of volunteers from sending follow-up correspondence and spending countless hours making follow up calls.

On behalf of the officers and the Board of Directors, I wish you and all who you care about and love a healthy and happy New Year.

L’ Shana Tova.
